This is the last pool session, on May 29th, 2007. I'll use a full tank, just for a change, and to get an idea how much more difficult is it to carry and move it around under water.
Buckling up the BC is easier if someone helps you, e.g. my instructor Greg.
Oops, I didn't tighten the tank holder strap well enough, and the tank is sliding down. No good. In the back, Roberto is entering the water with a giant stride.
Roberto signals that everything is fine with him!
My instructor tightens the tank to my BC again. On the right, some of the weights I'll be using. Will I have to use more or less weight than with a smaller tank?
They gave me a brand new set of regulators, including a nice octopus which has a handy strap, so it does not keep running around...
Getting ready to step in...
Et voilą, a giant stride into the water.
I'm doing fine!
Loading the weights. I'll probably need 25 lbs.
We are simulating a depth rescue. I just pulled Roberto up to the surface, I will now try to drag it to the beach (the opposite side of the pool) while simulating a CPR in the meanwhile.
The cardiopulmonary resuscitation is purely simulated :)
Mission accomplished! Time to switch roles and try again.
